Verity Venue’s View:
In my opinion there is no where more luxurious in the North West than The Chester Grosvenor – the venue just oozes style and elegance, owned by the Duke of Westminster and expertly run by MD Jonathan Slater it’s a little piece of luxury as soon as you walk through the door. So I was intrigued to hear that The Chester Grosvenor now has a sister venue only a few minutes walk away called Oddfellows.
Following a tour Oddfellows can only be described as “fantastically quirky” the welcome desk is a wing of a plane (literally) accompanied by iconic cinema seats, the downstairs meeting/private dining room even has an upside down table hanging from the ceiling! As you weave your way further into the venue you arrive at the wonderfully designed restaurant by Simon Radley, venture even further and you will find a cleverly designed outside space home to the ‘potting bar’ perfect to hire for any product launch, party or team drinks. If you are looking for private/corporate space Oddfellows offers three private rooms plus an outside terrace for summer events. The venue has 18 brand new bedrooms all super and as you would expect the staff are trained to the Grosvenor standard – I loved this venue and definitely one to view for your next event.
For the more traditional corporate readers or for clients looking for a larger venue or ideal wedding venue The Chester Grosvenor & Spa is still top of my list – the Belgrave suite can hold 250 theatre style and the Aldford Suite holds 84, however the rooms are flexible and the Westminster Suite can be combined or divided into smaller rooms to suit your needs. They also have a contemporary meeting space called The Executive Boardroom that holds 20 board room style with its own private welcome reception area and all the clever technology you could wish for. The hotel has 80 bedrooms but is popular with guests so would suggest 40 is an ideal number for a residential event. Their DDR/24hr rates can offer a choice of restaurants including the award winning Michelin star restaurant with four AA rosettes and one of the 2012 Sunday Times Top 100 restaurants in the UK.
Anything else to add that makes this venue special
The chocolate shop, Rococo Chocolates, is fabulous and offers corporate blind chocolate tasting in the cellar.
Latest audio-visual equipment, inbuilt video conferencing facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi access – The Audio Video is the best I have seen in a hotel.
The staff and exceptional menus
